The Snake and the Hunter – The Evolution of a Myth. (a story/ish)
From the beginning of time there is a story of a π hunter who goes out into the woods or fields to chase out all the ππ so the children can play safely without fear of ππ biting them. But whatever they tried, there was always a π left who bit the ankles of the children. Too many children died.
At first the π hunters tried πͺ and πΉ . But they found they had to get too close to the π π . Often when the π was protecting their π₯π₯ which never worked well for the hunter. Too many hunters died.
The hunters started wearing π₯Ύ and leaving β° where they knew π π had π₯π₯ . Then they left β£οΈ . Then they tried π« .
The children were finding the β° β£οΈ π« πͺ first and too many children died. The π were getting mad at the hunters for their bad ideas on π π hunting.
The π π were getting mad at the hunters for endangering their π₯π₯ and they were π¦ at the children. The π π were done hiding from the hunters.
The game had turned. Too many people died, π¬ π and children.
So the π¬ π put their heads together and thought of π§ but the π π came thru the pipes and it took so much work to π§ π§ the buildings and pipes. So much π°π° so the π¬ π π§¨π§¨ them up. And went back to their earlier ways.
But now the π¬ π knew the π π better. And the π π knew they had to change. If they wanted to survive. If they wanted their π₯π₯ to survive as well. And they did.
So over the next generations, the π π mated and changed their π₯π₯ till one day the π π saw they now had two heads on the same tail. And they knew they had outsmarted the hunters.
Wherever they turned there would now be a π facng them, ready to bite.
When the π¬ π saw this, they knew it was time to leave their village. The π π had won.
When the π π had their woods and fields back to raise their
π₯π₯ in peace, they thought they’d be happy and safe.
But the world had changed. Never to be the same again. And even when you think you have all the power in your hands, or tails, you need a hunter or a π to make paradise worthwhlle.
Slowly the π¬ π returned and the ππ hid under the rocks in the fields and woods again. And this time? The π¬ π told the story of the two-headed snake to the children and warned them to stay away from the π₯π₯ instead of killing the ππ .
